Big day today! I bought the house I grew up in from mom. It needs lots of repairs and updates but I'll have a large acre and half lot instead of the tiny little subdivision lot I currently have. My current plans include new siding, windows and removal of dilapidated buildings (garden and RV sheds.) Oh, and building a little chicken coop for a handful of chickens (5-7) which is unrelated to the high price of eggs. I just want some chickens--the eggs are a nice feature.

I already see a need for a little garden shed. Maybe it'll be near the chickens so it can serve double duty as storage for chicken supplies.
