March wind

windI'm sure I've mentioned previously that my back patio experiences a lot of wind. Around Christmas, I bought a wind guage and was surprised to see wind speeds above 70mph. I have no way to verify that directly but my patio set blew off the patio this month in spite of having bungie cords strapping the chairs to the table which backfired: the chairs pulled the table off the patio. I heard it happen and went out to move the set into the garage. After removing the "anchor" of a 4 chair stack, I returned to find the entire table upside down and support welds were broke. My table now appears to be junk.

Now when I come down the steps and look out the patio door, it looks bare except for the large flower pots along the sunny edges. I do enjoy eating outside so I will likely get a new set. I am contemplating a concrete set--it won't blow away but it isn't particularly attractive.

Along with the wind comes warmer weather and my trees and spring flowers are sprouting green bits. I am anxious to see what the flowers look like as I replanted the flower bed last year with a significant reduction in the size of the two huge rose bushes which are now small shrubs. They may not make it through the Spring.

I currently have pepper and tomato seedlings growing in the house and am ready to plant when the weather finally turns. It was below freezing last night so it may be a week or two.
