Lounging On Rooftops?

My mother, like many elderly folk, has difficulty troubleshooting problems with the TV and satellite receiver. She frequently ends up calling upon me or my sister to help her. This can be an issue for me if it is specific to Dish TV as I was an early adopter of cord cutting and haven't had satellite or cable TV service since 2006.
I finally convinced mom to switch to DirecTV, which my sister uses, and save about $50 a month. She had been waiting to see if the local phone company might supply TV service over optical since they are working on upgrading service in her area. Alas, they will not; so, we moved forward with getting her signed up for DirecTV.
In my experience, when dealing with installations or service calls, the time is set a week away with a morning or afternoon choice. I finished the sign-up process around noon and was presented with the option of same-day installation. I clicked on it just to see what would happen. Then I called to cancel the Dish subscription. At 1:07 pm I received a text message indicating the installer was on his way. He arrived at 1:20! That's less than 2 hours after I placed the online order for signing up!!
So anyway, he was not able to remove the existing satellite dish so I got out a ladder and a wrench and proceeded to take it down. In removing the bolts that held the antenna in place, I scraped up my knuckles on both hands due to the sharp gravel on the shingles.
So this came to mind today while watching a show that had a couple going out on the roof for a romantic evening of stargazing. I am surprised at how many movies and TV shows depict people casually sitting on shingled rooftops collecting their thoughts, having deep discussions, or a touching romantic moment.
